Whalers Hockey

The Whalers ended the regular season with a 12-4 win over the Belfast Eagles, boosting our 3rd place position and playoff spot. Our next competitive game will be against Kilkenny City Storm in the IIHL Development League playoffs, with the time and date posted here when available.

A disappointing game for the Whalers where we were beaten 9-2 in what was quite a one-sided game at times. We are looking to bounce back from this defeat in our next and final game of the regular IIHA Development League where we take on the Belfast Eagles on 30th April at 8:30PM.

The Whalers are guaranteed a 3rd place finish in the IIHA Development League and will therefore be competing in the playoffs. Congratulations to the team and management for their hard work and success!

The game scheduled to be played this evening against the Rams B has been conceded by the Rams B. The Whalers will pick up the 3 points from this game. Our next game is tomorrow night against the Hawks B at 11PM.

The Dublin Wolves came back at the Whalers with a full-strength squad this evening in what was a very tiring rematch for a short-benched Whalers squad. The Whalers did their best to hold off the seemingly unstoppable Wolves offense and managed to squeeze in two goals in the third period - Bart Gatensby managing to score the second goal in the final seconds of the game. Our next game is on Saturday 26th April at 9:30PM against the Dublin Rams 'B' team.

The Whalers were defeated 8-5 during Saturday night's game at the Ice Dome in what was an intense and eventful game. Our next game will be against the Wolves once again. Date and time to be confirmed.

Having played the Dundalk Bulls Ladies just days go, the Whalers were back for the second bout of the season at the Ice Dome, finishing with a 9-1 win with Stephen Lynch scoring his first hat-trick. Congratulations to the team for the win, and to the Bulls Ladies for an enjoyable game.

Tomorrow night's game has now been confirmed and will be played at 9:30PM, we will be playing the Bulls Ladies.

An enjoyable match at the Ice Dome took place last night, where the Bulls Ladies played the Whalers, with the Whalers managing a 5-0 win.

There's been a schedule change to our game on Saturday 12th April against the Dublin Wolves. The face-off time has been changed to 9:30PM

After a promising start where the Whalers had managed a 3-1 lead going into the third period, the Latvian Hawks pulled the game level by the end of normal time. After a lengthy penalty shootout, the Hawks took the game 2-1 in penalties. A disappointing loss for the Whalers, however we look forward to our next game on Saturday night at 9:30PM against the Dundalk Bulls Ladies.

A late change to our schedule has the Whalers playing the Latvian Hawks this Sunday (30th March) at 9:30PM at the Dundalk Ice Dome.

After a 5-1 win over the Dublin Rams only three days earlier, the Whalers managed to get another, this time a 5-3 win over the Dundalk Bulls B. Match report to follow.

The IIHA have announced a game on Saturday 15th March at 10:30PM with the Whalers taking on the Dundalk Bulls B. This game replaces the one scheduled on the 4th April.
